Thank you to Our Lady of the Lake in Mandeville for offering the proceeds from this Team Trivia Night. Please attend and support Gianna Center in its mission.
Dear Gianna Community in Christ,
It is with a heavy heart, but with joy for Dr. Christine Hemphill to announce that she has been blessed
with a wonderful opportunity to advance both professionally and personally in Pennsylvania. We are
thankful that God allowed her to come to our community and help us bring the Gianna Center of
the Gulf South to a reality. She has been an integral part of our team and has worked tirelessly to
introduce NaProTECHNOLOGY to hundreds of women on the Northshore, the metro New Orleans
area and throughout the Gulf South region. She will be missed.
However, often when one door closes, God opens another! We have been blessed to have
Dr. Kathleen McGlynn, an OB/Gyn and NaProTECHNOLOGY surgeon, who joined the practice in
September of last year. Dr. McGlynn has received the same surgery training in NaProTECHNOLOGY
from Pope Paul VI Institute in Omaha Nebraska. Please be assured we will continue to provide
this cutting edge science of Women’s health to our community.
We would like to invite all of you to join us in a reception at the Gianna Clinic to thank Dr. Hemphill
for her service and officially welcome Dr. McGlynn.
Please be on the look out for the date and time this event will take place.
The Gianna Center of the Gulf South staff and board of directors
Dr Hemphill's fairwell letter is below.
Dear Gianna Center of the Gulf South Patient,
It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the Northshore Community since the opening of the
Gianna Center of the Gulf South on June 15, 2015. I have been blessed with a supportive community,
and I have truly enjoyed living in and caring for this community. We have been able to show that birth
options can be supported and that genuine gynecologic care that maintains the dignity of women
and family can be practiced. We have grown so quickly that we needed to bring on another
physician, Dr. Kathleen McGlynn, in a relatively short time.
Dr. McGlynn is a Board Eligible OB/GYN, who completed her residency training at Mercy Hospital
in St. Louis, Missouri. After this, she entered into the same fellowship training that I completed and
studied directly under Dr. Thomas Hilgers at the Pope Paul VI Institute for Human Reproduction.
She completed specialized training in the medical and surgical applications of NaProTECHNOLOGY
and is also skilled at minimally invasive surgical techniques, to include robotic surgery, endometriosis
removal, and pelvic scar prevention. She joined the practice in September 2016 after discerning that
she was being called to join this community and serve. Since then, she has been providing excellent
obstetric and gynecologic care consistent with the mission of the Gianna Center of the Gulf South.
She has been a wonderful addition to the staff.
Recently, my family and I were presented an opportunity to serve another community, and we have
decided to follow God's calling to this new adventure. I will miss you greatly and will be praying for you,
and I hope that you will continue to pray for me to be successful in my role towards fulfilling God's
plan. Patients who have established with me at the Gianna Center of the Gulf South are patients
of the practice, so I encourage you to continue to support this practice and get to know
Dr. McGlynn. Although, I will still be practicing on the northshore through the Gianna Center of
the Gulf South until April 30, 2017, patients may wish to begin transitioning to Dr. McGlynn's care
now, while I'm available to discuss plans.
